More About This Unit
What do our 4th Grade Gymnastics PE plans cover?
In Grade 4 Gymnastics, students should learn, develop, and refine the key elements required to perform gymnastic sequences. These elements build on previous learning and include key shapes, balances, movement, and travelling, such as jumps, leaps, and rolls, and skills needed to work in pairs, small groups, and individually.
Our 4th Grade Gymnastics lessons help children understand a range of compositional principles, and apply them fluently and effectively.
Why are Gymnastics lessons important for elementary-age children?
Gymnastics lessons are essential for elementary students, offering endless opportunities to develop balance, agility, coordination, flexibility, strength, technique, and control. These motor competence components are valuable, and transferable in all other sports, and help promote children to lead healthy, active lifestyles.
Elementary School Gymnastics is also great for building confidence, developing social skills, and allowing children to recognize and celebrate their successes.
